Bearface has won multiple international awards for its ground-breaking whiskies. Each whisky undergoes a creation process of ageing in three different styles of sherry barrels and is matured with exposure to the full spectrum of elements in the British Colombian wildness.
Now for Bearface’s newest whisky innovation, a series of whiskies called The Wilderness Series. This lovingly crafted series is inspired by the Canadian backcountry and comprises a collaboration of flavours from contents that have been foraged from the Monashee Mountains.
The first edition is called Matsutake and will be launched in Spring 2022.
Matsutake’s namesake and starring ingredient is an elusive mushroom that can only be harvested once a year but has such a unique spicy and delicious taste that it’s entirely worth the wait. Whilst a mushroom may not sound like the ideal addition to create a delectable whisky, you will be pleasantly surprised.
Once poured, Matsutake resembles divine nectar and the stunning shades of amber can be admired as the light reflects in your glass. The flavour? Imagine a silky infusion of nutmeg, caramel and peatiness. The umami side to this taste profile gives an adventurous twist that will have your tongue not knowing what hit it…but wanting more.
With the upcoming Wilderness series, Bearface stays true to its motto of “We believe no idea is too wild and no ingredient is too adventurous”. It climbs the mountainous peaks of taste innovation whilst hunting down the thrill of a tantalising flavour profile for each of its whiskies.
